The next Vatican thriller – when?
This is the most asked question by the readers. Well, here’s an update:
NEW NOVEL – In winter 2011. Yes, get ready for the next rollercoaster of secrets. You’ll be appalled.
Do I have to read the books in sequence?
If you like Sarah and Rafael, we suggest that you read them in order, starting with the first novel, THE LAST POPE, and then the second THE HOLY BULLET (THE HOLY ASSASSIN IN UK). Either way, each book is a dedication to a Pope. So, it’s your call. You decide.
How does Luis do his research?
Luis doesn’t do his research the way most authors do. He doesn’t spend hundreds of hours in libraries, reading newspaper archives, or browsing the web. He has special connections in and out of the Vatican that allows him to write these stories. Also, he’s got a team of journalists and investigators in Rome working on several leads and getting material for his books. So, yes, most of what you read is true.
Does Sarah and Rafael exist in real life?
Although Luis would be very happy for Sarah to exist in real life, she’s a product of his creation. As for Rafael, he’s based on a real life person. If you’ve noticed, Luis didn’t provide them physical descriptions. It is because he wants to leave it up to your imagination how you want them to look like.
And what about JC?
He’s also a product of real life without whom no book would be possible.
Why does Luis use real names for his historical characters and not a fictional one?
Because they were real men doing things and living the history. It’s nonsense using fictional names to state the obvious.
Does Luis read his email?
We forward almost every email to Luis. Of course, we delete any rude commentaries and inappropriate correspondence. We also delete any email regarding ideas for novels or which include whole or parts of unpublished stories or novels. Luis does his best to reply in a timely fashion, but due to the hundreds of emails Luis receive each week, he apologizes in advance if the reply is overdue.
I've an idea for a novel. Can Luis help me?
Please don't send any unpublished work or ideas. Luis DOES NOT solicit any of them.
How can I get Luis’ autograph?
Easy. Just email us your address, let us know whether you want a bookplate or your book signed. And we’ll take care of it.
How can I find out if Luis’ novels are published in my language?
Go to the Books page and see the updates. If your country or language is not stated, then it’s not published yet. However, you may contact some of your country’s publishers for his novels to get published in your own language.
Will Luis’ novels become movies?
Hollywood is keeping an eye on Luis’ novels. But he will not write the screenplay nor gets to choose the cast. He lets the Hollywood professionals do that.
How does the Vatican see Luis’ novels?
With utmost respect. Luis has very good friends in the Holy See and contrary to what most people think, Luis is NOT an enemy to the Vatican nor vice-versa. If you read carefully, all his novels are dedicated to a Pope. He never states a personal opinion about a character. He writes what he knows for a fact.
Is it true that Luis writes his novels on a cell phone?
Yes. He doesn’t prefer laptops, desktops or writing pads. He likes to write wherever and whenever, so the mobile phone is the winner.
